Halloween, Halloween, lots of fun on Halloween....

Halloween was a blast this year! Every year Bret and I always talk about what we want to be, never come to any conclusions and then five minutes before we are supposed to leave for the Trunk-or-Treat Bret says something like, "I really wish we would have dressed up this year." Then we scramble to find something in our house to wear and run out the door. I decided that this year would be different. Spencer already had his Batman outfit that he chose about two months before...
So we decided to run with the Batman theme and came up with this...

We had a great time at the trunk-or-treat! We do a dual ward trunk-or-treat. There is always a good turn out and it is so much fun with so many people! It started to rain, so some people brought their candy inside and some people stayed outside. It seemed like "everyone we know was just giving out candy!" Spencer came home with a full bucket!

It was such a fun night!

We had a great time carving our pumpkins! Spencer was grossed out when he touched the slimey stuff inside, so his dad had to do his dirty work!

We ended up with a classic jack-o-lantern, a pirate and a Martha Stewart copycat. It was a lot of fun!

We were so excited to take Spencer trick-or-treating! In the three Halloweens that we have lived in VA, we have never had a trick-or-treater, so Bret and I decided that we would both take Spencer out trick-or-treating!
It took a little convincing, but Bret and I decided to dress up again, too.

We waited for Bret to get home from work and then we were off! There is a really cute neighborhood behind our apartment complex that we went to. The people were so cute and they just loved our little Batman! They were all so, so nice to us!

Spencer's first time ever trick-or-treating....

He was a pro right from the start! That's my boy! All night I kept quoting Adam Sandler to Bret (uh-oh, I may be releasing a few skeletons from my closet :) ) He totally didn't get the quotes, but maybe you will...
"We got a first timer here....Do the right thing, Buddy!"
"Say Happy Halloween!"
"Happy Halloween."
"Next year, be prepared, Moron!"
Good times! (Or as my friend Michelle would say "GT's, GT's!")

Spencer came home with a whole bucket full and had it half eaten by the time we got home! Isn't Halloween the best holiday ever?!? (Other than Christmas, of course.) Bret is already asking what we are going to be next year. You can't blame a guy for wanting to be prepared! Happy Halloween!!!
